Cleveland State took two games Tuesday afternoon from the JV squad from Piedmont College.  They took the first game as they scored in the bottom of the 7th inning for a 2-1 win.  An eight run outburst in the bottom of the fifth inning in the second game led the squad to a 10-0 win in six innings.

In the first game, the Cougars took the lead in the third inning when Janson Roberson and Blake Thomas laced back to back doubles to plate one run.  Piedmont would even the score in the fourth on a single.  

Connor Coakley would single to begin the 7th inning.  He would move to second on a sacrifice bunt.  After an intentional walk to Anthony Hunt, both runners would move up on a groundout.  As Thomas was recieving an intentional pass, the pitcher threw a wild pitch allowing Coakley to score the winning run.

Coakley was the only Cougar with two hits.  Drew Buckhault toom the win in relief.  He gave up the one run on two hits and had one strikeout.

The Cougars jumped out in the second game as Coakley scored in the first on a Chris Caffrey single.  The score would remain that way until the bottom of the fifth inning.

Thomas, Jammer Strickland, and Coakley would bang out one out singles to plate one run.  Caleb Longley would then connect on a three run home run blast.  Caffrey and Austin Phillips would continue with back to back singles.  After an error, Caffrey would score on a sacrifice fly by Cole Baxley.  After a walk to Clay Hetland, Drew Curtis would blast his own three run home run.   

The Cougars ended the game in the sixth when Strickland would come home on a sacrifice fly by Caden Ricketts.

Strickland, Coakley, Caffrey, and Phillips would each finish with two hits in the game with Strickland and Coakley each scoring twice.  Kegan Frederick would take the win in the game.  He would surrender two hits in his two innings of work, but strike out three opponents.
