Cleveland State scored three runs in the ninth inning to help earn their first conference victory of the season.
The Cougars entered the final inning down a run and facing a three game series sweep at the hands of Volunteer State CC.
After tying the game on a bases loaded walk, the Cougars center fielder Wright Hackett stepped to the plate hitting a single driving in two runs to give Cleveland State an 11-9 lead.
Cougars pitcher Michael Dike earned the victory pitching the final two innings allowing no runs and striking out three.
Cleveland State (8-4) takes the field again this Wednesday at Cougar Field hosting Bryan College.
