Cleveland State couldn't erase the deficits in either game of today's double header at Jackson State CC.
Despite the Cougars two through four batters driving in three runs each in game one, Cleveland State couldn't out score the Generals.
The Cougars rallied back from being down 6-1 after four innings by scoring 10 runs the next three innings to go up 11-8. Jackson State then scored seven runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a 13-11 lead.
In the top half of the final inning Cleveland State had a man on first with one out and the tying run at the plate. The Generals turned a 6-4-3 game ending double play.
In game two Jackson State jumped out to an 8-1 lead after four innings. The Cougars narrowed the gap, but lost 9-4. Generals pitcher Logan Underhill pitched a complete game to earn the victory.
The Cougars are back at home hosting Georgia Perimeter College this Wednesday with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m.
