Cleveland State traveled to Tullahoma and nearly brought home a three game series sweep from Motlow State CC.
Cougars pitcher Jake Wyrick pitched a complete game two hitter allowing one unearned run striking out eleven leading Cleveland State to a 4-1 victory in game one. Designated hitter Jammer Strickland drove in two runs on a single in the seventh inning to help secure the victory.
In game two Cleveland State trailed the Bucks 4-0 after two innings before putting five runs on the board in the top of the third. Cougars pitcher Drew Buckhault held Motlow State to one run the final four innings helping Cleveland State pick up the 9-5 win.
Cleveland State seemed poised for the three game series sweep hitting three home runs in game three and taking a three run lead into the eighth inning. Motlow State scored four runs in the final two innings, winning 9-8 on a walk-off single from catcher Darren White.
The Cougars return to the field this Wednesday hosting Piedmont College in a double header with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m.
