Walters State looked like the number one team in the league tonight.

The Senators (19-1, 10-1) came to Cleveland State (9-8, 5-5) and put-up triple digits on the board walking out with a 109-77 victory.

The Cougars had trouble getting past Walters State defense turning it over 25 times compared to their 10 turnovers. Another difference was the amount of shots the Senators put up.

Cleveland State shot just about four percent worse from the field and shot about two percent better from behind the three-point line, but Walters State put up more than twice as many threes and 29 more shots overall.

The Cougars Caleb Chapman scored a game high 21 points with Thaddeus Johnson not far behind with 20, but Walters State had five players score in double figures.

The Senators boast the three top three-point shooters in the conference and they did not disappoint going 11-24 from three-point land combined.

Next up for the Cougars is a trip to Volunteer State (3-19, 2-10) this Saturday. The two met back on December 2 at Cleveland State with the Cougars taking that game 82-78. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m.
