With the Cleveland State (12-11, 8-8) home loss to Motlow State (16-13, 11-6), the Cougars are locked in at sixth place in the conference playoff tournament.

Already down their top scorer Julius King, Jr. due to injury, the team's second leading scorer Thaddeus Johnson went down with an injury in the first half.

Kameron Clark ranks third on Cleveland State's scoring list and stepped up putting in a game high 20 points. Caleb Chapman finished with a double-double putting in 14 while bringing down 12 rebounds, but it wasn't enough as the Bucks put away Cleveland State 67-53.

Motlow State had four players score in double figures and were able to pick-up the road win, exacting revenge on the Cougars from earlier in the season, while also keeping in striking distance of moving into third place overall in the conference.

Sixteen turnovers plagued Cleveland State leading to 20 Motlow State points, while the Bucks turned it over just six times. The Cougars also struggled from the free-throw line going 10-21 from the charity stripe.

The game marked the final time the Cougars will play on their home court this season. Cleveland State has two more games before the conference playoff tournament.

Next up is a road game at Columbia State (21-8, 11-6), a team they lost to 63-58 at home on January 27. The final game will be a make-up at Dyersburg State (2-21, 1-15) on Monday.

Tip-off at Columbia State is scheduled for this Saturday at 5 p.m.
