Cougars Play Chattanooga State in Conference Tournament Today

The conference tournament playoff starts today for the Cougars.

Cleveland State (13-12, 9-9) finishes off the second-round action playing Chattanooga State (20-7, 13-5).

The Tigers took the first two games the teams played earlier this season. Back on November 15 Chattanooga State won 91-78 on their home court, then came to Cleveland and won 88-83 on January 31.

The Cougars face an additional challenge today being down their top two scorers Julius King, Jr. and Thaddeus Johnson due to injuries.

King and Johnson each had 21 points in their latest meeting of the season with Chattanooga State, but in their first meeting Kameron Clark led the way with 23. Clark is the team's third leading scorer overall on the season.

With a win Cleveland State will move onto the semi-finals and play the winner of the Roane State (22-6, 15-3) versus Southwest Tennessee (11-20, 7-11) matchup being played at 4 p.m. today.

The tournament is being played at Motlow State Community College and will be live streamed.  Tip-off for the Cougars and Tigers game is scheduled for 6 p.m.
