The Cougars travel to Volunteer State today wanting to complete the season series sweep.
Cleveland State (9-8, 5-5) defeated the Pioneers (3-19, 2-10) back on December 2 in a tight game 82-78.
One key to victory will be containing the conference's leading scorer MiQuan Tucker. He averages 23.5 points per game and is one of the team's two players averaging double figures in scoring.
When the two met at Cleveland State earlier in the season Tucker was the game's leading scorer and rebounder with 25 points and 13 rebounds. Tucker ranks fifth in the conference in rebounds per game.
For the Cougars Julius King, Jr. led the way scoring putting in 22 points. King is currently fifth in the conference in points per game averaging 19.9.
Hasani Rivera was the team's top rebounder with 11 in the two teams first meeting. Rivera ranks fifth in the conference in field goal shooting percentage at 60.9.
In their first meeting it was a back and forth battle with the Cougars needing to come back after trailing by four at halftime to claim victory over Volunteer State. Cleveland State won the rebounding battle by 12 boards to help secure the win.
