BASEBALL DROPS TWINBILL TO WALTERS STATE

The Cleveland State baseball team took to the road saturday for a doubleheader against the natrionally ranked Senators of Walters State.  They dropped a close one in the first game 3-0, but were doomed by a big eight inning to drop the second game 13-5.

The Cougars could only muster two hits in the first game as Reese Plemons and Stokes Needham each rapped out a single.  Kaleb Orr took the loss, but pitched six strong innings, surrendering six hits, two earned runs while striking out and walking two batters.

The Cougars saw their hosts strike for eight runs in the last three innings in the seond game loss.  The Cougars had seven hits in the contest with no single player picking up a multiple hit game.  Four of the hits were for extra bases as Lance Dockery and  Plemons each had solo home runs with J.D. Day and Tanner Hill each stroking a double.  Dayton Wisley took the loss as four Cougar pitchers gave up 13 hits, 13 earned runs, 10 walks while striking out six hitters.
