COUGARS SPLIT DOULBEHEADER WITH ROANE STATE

The Cougars came away with a split of their doubleheader with Roane State Wednesday afternoon as they won the first game 10-2 before dropping the second one 11-8.  

The team managed seven hits in the game, but took advantage of four Raider errors.  No Cougar had multiple hits in the game.  Caden Smith would have a two run double and a groundout for three RBIs.  Bryce jenkins would launch a two run home run and Ryan McCarthy would also drive in two runs in the game.  Daniel Crabtree went the distance for the victory as two earned runs, three hits with three walks and six strikeouts.

Holding onto an 8-5 lead, the Cougars saw their guests strike for six runs between the sixth and seventh inning to hand them the loss.  McCarthy would be the only Cougars with two hits with a single and a double.  J.D. Day and Smith would each blast solo home runs.  Day would finish the game with three RBIs.  The Cougars would use six pitchers in the game with Bryce Houghton taking the loss.  In total, they would surrender 10 hits, 11 runs (seven earned), eight walks with 11 strikeouts.
