COUGARS WIN ONE OF TWO AT MOTLOW

The Cougars fought back from a 5-0 deficit in the game two Wednesday to salvage a split with the Motlow State bucks, 7-6.  They would rally for two runs in the top of the seventh inning to take the lead for good in posting the victory.

In game one, an 8-3 loss, the Cougars managed only four hits with Jacob Robinson belting out two singles and scoring a run.  The Bucks exploded for seven runs in the first two innings and never trailed in the game.  Daniel Crabtree to the loss, as he went two innings giving up seven runs on six hits with two walks.  He struck out one hitter.  Javier Favela was solid in relief with four innings of two hit ball with one run.  He would walk two and strike out two batters in the game.

In game two, the Bucks exploded for five runs in the first two innings thanks tow a couple of Cougar errors.  Cleveland would chip away at the lead with a two run single by Tate Daniels in the third inning, and then tie the game on a three run home run from J.D. Day in the fourth inning.  After Motlow would reclaim the lead, Stokes Needham would stroke a two run single to give the Cougars the lead in the seventh inning.  Lance dockery and Yousanny Valdes-Herrera would each bang out two hits in the game.  Owen Clark would get the win in relief as he went 5 and 1/3 innings, surrendering one run on three hits.  He would walk four and strike out seven hitters in the game.
