COUGARS DROP TWO AGAINST SECOND RANKED SENATORS

The Cougars took to the field Saturday afternoon with the Senators of Walters State who had just moved up to the #2 spot in the national rankings.  They had their chances in both games, but came out on the short end of the score in both contests, 11-4 and 13-7.

The Senators struck four seven runs in the first three innings, but the Cougars left eight men on base as they tried to tighten the first contest.  They had ten hits in the gae as Tate Daniels and Ryan Mccarthy each banging out two hits with McCarthy hitting a two run home run in the fifth inning.  Lance Dockery, Jacob robinson, and Courtney Payne each had a double.  Kaleb Orr took the loss as he went the first 5 2/3 innings, giving up 11 runs (8 earned) on 11 hits with four walks and five strikeouts.  Bryce Clark gave up one hits in his 1 1/3 innings of relief with three strikeouts.

The Cougars would strike first in the second game as they scored in the bottom of the first inning on an RBUI single by Dockery.  Walters would score 8 rruns in the next three innings to take control of the game.  The cougars would manage six hits in the game with Robinson leading with a single and a three run home run.  Bryce Houghton would take the loss as four pitchers allowed the 13 earned runs on 11 hits.  They would walk four and strike out 13 batters.
