Cleveland State shutout Vincennes University 3-0 in game two of their double header this afternoon.

Carter Fink (2-0) earned the victory pitching six innings striking out ten while walking two and allowing five hits.  Andrew Kribbs closed the game pitching the final inning earning the save striking out one while walking one and allowing one hit.

Shortstop Rhett Hammontree led the way hitting going 2-3 scoring a run and driving in another.  He also stole two bases.

Designated hitter Bryson Trammel drove in second baseman Jaylen Jones in the first inning.  Hammontree scored in the second inning on a passed ball and in the sixth inning he singled to knock in right fielder Reggie Cooper.

Four defensive errors and a pitching gem from Vincennes University's Dawson Blaylock plagued the Cougars in game one. 

The Trailblazers started fast scoring three runs in the top of the first inning. 

Trammel blasted a solo shot over the right field fence in the bottom of the first getting the Cougars on the board.  After allowing the home run, Blaylock allowed just one more Cougars hit pitching five complete innings striking out seven while walking two and earning the victory.

Vincennes led 7-1 before Cleveland State scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth.  The Cougars reached base safely twice in the bottom of the seventh, but were unable to overcome the deficit losing 7-4.

Cleveland State hosts Vincennes in the rubber match of their three game series tomorrow morning with first pitch scheduled for 11am.
