Cougars top Jackson State 11-2

Cleveland State (9-9) hit the road on Friday for their first TCCAA series at Jackson State. They rode the complete game pitching of Cooper Casteel (3-0) and an offense that put up 11 runs on 13 hits to the 11-2 victory, evening their TCCAA record to 2 -2.
Sophomore Jaylen Jones led the offense with four hits, he scored two runs and had two runs batted in.
Riley Orr had three RBI's on one hit and scored two runs. Rhett Hammontree and Avery Collins each had two hits and two RBI's. Cooper Casteel was in control the entire game. He tossed a complete game allowing two runs on seven hits while striking out nine Greenjays.
The Cougars will return to action on Saturday to complete the three-game series with a double header beginning at 11:00 cst.
