Cleveland State hosted BCA on Wednesday, April 5, winning both ends of the doubleheader 11-2 and 9-1.  The Cougars banged out 14 hits in game one and eight hits in game two moving their overall season record to 20-13 ith a conference record of 8-6.

Game One Recap....Wednesday April 6

Ben Smith started and took the win pitching five innings while striking out four as the Cougars scored three runs in the second, one each in the fourth and fifth, and finally six in the bottom of the sixth for the 11-2 win.  Carson Mitchell finished the game throwing two shutout innings.

In the second, doubles by Bryson Trammell, Ryan Stepehens, and Bryce Burkey along with a single by Reggie Cooper put three runs on the board for Cleveland State.  After single runs in the fourth and fifth, the Cougars exploded for six in the sixth when Brandon LeJeune doubled in two, Colby Taylor singled home two more while Burkey and Brayden Evans each plated one with singles.

On the game, Burkey had three hits while Taylor and Stepehens each had two.  The remainder of the Cougars hits came from one hit each off the bats of Rheyy Hammontree, Jaylen Jones, Evans, AJ Swader, LeJeune, Trammell, and Cooper.

Game Two Recap...Wednesday April 6

 IN game two, the Cougars used five pitchers with Griffin Orr hurling the fourth and fifth innings, taking the win.  BCA manage just four hits of Cleveland State pitching.

In the fourth, the Cougars scored five runs as Taylor and Corey Fields each hit in single runs while Ryan Langford singled in tw.  The other run was scored via an error.

The final four runs of the 9-1 win came in the sixth inning on an RBI single by Avery Collins, a two-run single by Taylor, and an RBI fielder's choice by Harrison Garrett.  

Langford, Taylor, and Ryan Hunter each had two hits while Collins and Fields each had one.  Fields and Hammontree each had a stolen base.
