Cougar Baseball Loses Three Game Series to Walters State
Cleveland State Baseball lost a three-game series on the road to Walters State Friday April 14 and Saturday April 15 giving them an overall record 21-17 and conference mark of 9-10.
Friday's game was an 11-2 loss while the doubleheader on Saturday were losses of 16-1 and 7-1.
Game One Recap
The Cougars down by seven runs going into the sixth inning scored one an another in the seventh for their two runs in the 11-2 loss.
Cleveland State had nine hits on the game, three by AJ Swader and two by Colby Taylor. Cougars with one hit each included Jaylen Jones and Jacob Robinson with homeruns, Ryan Stephens and Bryce Burkey.
The first game of the doubleheader on Saturday turned into a 16-1 fiving inning loss as Cleveland State scored one run on six hits. The Cougars lone run came in the first on a Jones homerun while on the game Rhett Hammontree, Swader, Taylor and Avery Collins had one hit each.
Game Three Recap
In the 7-1 loss in game three Cleveland State managed just two hits, a homerun by Cannon Stafford and a single by Hunter Ryan.
