The Cougars (5-6) traveled to Wallace State on Wednesday for a single game against the Lions and came away with an 11-8 victory. 

The Cougars came out swinging pounding out 12 hits, including four home runs.

Rhett Hammontree got the Cougars going in the second inning, after a hit by Riley Orr, Hammontree hit a fastball over the wall in right center field giving the Cougars an early 2-0 lead.

The Cougars held the 2-0 lead until the fifth inning, when they opened the lead to 7-0 after a five-run outburst.  Cannon Swafford hit a three-run home, which was followed up by Jacob Robinson's two run homer over the scoreboard in left field.

Innings six through nine both teams traded runs. The Lions chipped into the lead by scoring three runs in the sixth to make the score 7-4 going into the 7th inning.  After two quick outs Cannon Stafford was hit by a pitch, Jacob Robinson followed with a single to left. Bryson Trammell pinch hit for Avery Collins and hit a three-run home run to right field giving the Cougars an 10-4 lead. The Lions answered back with three runs in the seventh and a solo run in the eighth inning making it 10-7. The Cougars added an insurance run in the ninth after a leadoff double by Reggie Cooper, Jaylen Jones delivered a clutch two out hit pushing the Cougars lead to 11-8.

Cooper Casteel(2-0) got the win for the Cougars tossing five and one third innings allowing five hits, four runs two earned, seven strikeouts and two walks.Griffin Orr followed Casteel allowing three runs on three hits and three walks. Andrew Kribbs picked up the save with two and one third innings allowing three hits, one run, a walk and three strikeouts. 

The Cougars weekend series against Kirkwood Community College has been postponed due to an unfavorable weather forecast.

The Cougars open a five game home stand on Wednesday March 1, vs. BCA with a doubleheader beginning at 1:00 and open TCCAA conference play with a three game series vs.Dyersburg State on Friday March 3 with a single game beginning at 2:00 followed with a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 12:00.
