Cougars Sweep Home Opening Double Header vs. Vincennes
The Cougars took both games in their home opening double header this afternoon. Cleveland State (3-3) won game one 8-3 against Vincennes University (1-2) and held on to defeat the Trail Blazers 5-4 in game two.

The Cougars took both games in their home opening double header this afternoon.
Cleveland State (3-3) won game one 8-3 against Vincennes University (1-2) and held on to defeat the Trail Blazers 5-4 in game two.
"It was a good bounce back day," head coach Michael Policastro said. "Our pitchers did a good job executing pitches and pitching out of a couple of jams."
Cooper Casteel started game one going four innings allowing one earned run on five hits striking out six and walking one. The victory went to Zane Brown pitching the final three innings allowing no runs on two hits striking out seven and walking one.
Andrew Kribbs earned the win in game two pitching the first four innings allowing one earned run on two hits striking out seven and walking three. Logan Bryson threw the final inning earning the save allowing no runs or hits while striking out two and not walking a batter.
Offensively the Cougars went 11-25 overall in game one scoring eight runs. Riley Orr went 3-3 driving in two runs, scoring once and doubling. Bryson Trammell hit a solo homer and walked in his other three plate appearances.
In game two Orr went 3-4 driving in another run and scoring twice while Trammell went 2-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Each doubled in the game.
"Our offense came alive, Riley Orr and Bryson Trammell had good day leading the offense," Policastro said.
The series was originally scheduled for three games, but the final game is canceled due to expected incoming inclement weather tomorrow and over the weekend.
Next up for the Cougars is a road trip to Calhoun Community College on Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
