
Cougars Baseball Knocks Out Top Seed to Advance in Region Tournament
It was an unexpected loser's bracket matchup with Cleveland State sending the top seed Walters State home. The Cougars pounded out 13 hits defeating the Senators 10-4.

The Cougars pounded out 13 hits defeating the Senators 10-4.
Cleveland State handed Manning West (8-1) his first loss of the season. And Austin Breedlove (3-3), typically a starting pitcher, came in relief for Andrew Kribbs to earn the victory pitching the final seven innings striking out seven while allowing two earned runs on eight hits while walking three.
The Cougars scored eight runs in the first three innings off West and didn't allow Walters State to make it close. Cleveland State did not homer, but did have seven extra base hits. Evan Goins led the way with three runs batted in.
Cleveland State will now wait to see who they play next, but are scheduled for an 8:30 p.m./7:30 p.m. first pitch on Tuesday, May 7. A win will put them into the final four of the region tournament.
