Cougars Baseball Lose Opening Round Game
Southwest Tennessee topped the Cougars by a run to open the region tournament. Cleveland State lost 4-3 dropping them down to the loser's bracket.

Southwest Tennessee topped the Cougars by a run to open the region tournament.
Cleveland State lost 4-3 dropping them down to the loser's bracket.
Logan Luckett drove in the first two runs of the game putting the Saluqis up in the top of the third.
Evan Goins brought home Bryson Trammell on a ground out to second to cut the lead in half in the bottom of the fourth. Then Riley Orr doubled in the bottom of the sixth to bring Trammell home for the second time to tie the game.
Southwest Tennessee scored two more in the top of the seventh with Luckett driving in another. He went 2-3 on the game with three RBI.
In the bottom half of the seventh Cannon Stafford singled home Hunter Ryan, but that would be the Cougars final run.
Despite striking out 12 batters, Cooper Casteel (5-2) suffered the loss going 6.2 innings allowing three earned runs on five hits while walking four. Hayden Collins (2-2) earned the victory with Brayden Stewart picking up the save.
Next up for Cleveland State is an elimination game against the top seed Walters State.
