Cleveland State won one and lost one in their final non-conference games of the season.

The Cougars (31-17, 12-12) went to Bryan College for a double header losing the first game 6-3, but putting together an offensive show in game two winning 18-4.

The Lions homered twice in the first game of the day and took a 5-1 lead into the fourth inning. Cleveland State battled back scoring one run in each of the final two innings, but it wasn't enough to overcome their deficit.

Daniel Hughes (2-2) suffered the loss pitching the first three innings allowing three earned runs on three hits while striking out four and walking three. Jeremy Crider finished the final three innings allowing one earned run on five hits while striking out six and walking one.

Bryan College threw seven different pitchers, one per inning, a trend in non-conference games. Bryson Trammell went 2-2 with a run scored and an RBI. Riley Orr went 2-3 scoring a run.

Ben Sompayrac (2-0) earned the victory in game two pitching three innings allowing three earned runs on four hits while striking out three and walking two.

Seven of the Cougars 18 runs were drove in by Brock Harvey, who also hit two home runs. Trammell homered once driving in three. Brayden Evans doubled and had two RBI.

Next up for Cleveland State is their final series of the regular season taking a road trip to Volunteer State (18-23, 6-16). The first of the three game set starts Friday with a 3 p.m. first pitch.
