Cleveland State women's basketball will see their first action of the 2023-2024 season tomorrow.
The Cougars are participating in the JUCO Jamboree at Carrollton High School in Carrollton, GA. They play Itawamba Community College at 2:30 p.m. and East Mississippi at 4:20 p.m.
"They need to ball out to go to the next level," head coach Lisa Phillips said.
There are normally about 50 division one schools there, according to assistant coach Josh Muncey.
The Cougars have practiced throughout the fall getting ready for their upcoming season with this tournament in mind. The ladies will showcase their skills to larger schools in hopes to take their college basketball careers to the next level.
"Hayla Patton, Shanial McCoy, Latisha Parris, Derriona Salter and Jarnyria Maddox are who I know are looking to go on to the next level," Phillips said.
This is head coach Lisa Phillips first year with Cleveland State. She comes to the school with over 20 years of coaching experience, including time at division one schools.
