Cleveland State dropped a home game for the first time this season.

Wallace State - Hanceville (10-1, 1-0) put together a balanced offensive attack to knock off the Cougars (4-4, 2-2) 64-49.

The Lions had five players score in double figures with Layla Etchison scoring a game high 17 points.

Cleveland State's Jordan McCullough led the way for the Cougars putting up 11 points with Mackenzie Brenier adding another 10. Latisha Parris nearly had a double-double scoring eight points and grabbing 10 rebounds.

The biggest difference overall was Wallace State shooting 48.8 percent from the field compared to the Cougars shooting 34 percent.

The two will meet again this Saturday at Wallace State to complete their home-and-home season series. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m.
