The Lisa Phillips era at Cleveland State officially begins tonight.
The Cougars open their season at home this evening hosting Bryan College JV with tip off set for 5:30 p.m.
CSCC hired Phillips and assistant coach Christian Overall this offseason to lead this season's women's basketball program.
The Cougars played in a Juco Jamboree one month ago today. It was a preseason tournament double header against Itawamba and East Mississippi Community Colleges.
Cleveland State finished 18-7 last season and lost in the semi-final round of the conference tournament.
The Cougars play one more time next Tuesday hosting Calhoun Community College before opening up conference play at Chattanooga State on November 15, the same team they lost to in the conference playoffs last season.
The men's team was also scheduled to open their season this evening, but their opponent dropped out of the game. The men will now tip-off this Saturday at 2 p.m. hosting Tennessee Wesleyan JV.
