Cleveland State picked up a big home victory against one of the top teams in the conference this afternoon.

The Cougars (8-12, 6-9) clamped down defensively holding Dyersburg State (15-10, 10-5) to 16 points below their season average, winning 58-44.

The Eagles were held to 27.1 percent shooting while the Cougars shot about ten percent better from the field and hit seven more free throws throughout the game.

Four Cougars scored in double figures with Jordan McCullough putting in a team high 13 points while coming one rebound shy of a double-double. Derriona Salter finished with 12 while Latisha Parris put in 11.

The conference's third leading scorer Ava Craddock carried the Eagles tallying a game high 21 points for Dyersburg State, but she was the only Eagle to put up double figures.

Next up for the Cougars is a home game against Motlow State (5-20, 2-13) this Wednesday. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
