The Cougars women's basketball team looks to get their first conference victory on the season this afternoon.
Cleveland State (2-1, 0-1) plays their first conference home game today hosting Southwest Tennessee (4-1, 1-0).
The Cougars are undefeated at home, but lost earlier this week at Chattanooga State (3-0, 1-0).
SW Tennessee defeated Volunteer State in their conference opener. The Saluqis only loss this year came in their only road game.
The Cougars come in averaging 66.3 points per game on the season while SW Tennessee averages 70.2.
Cleveland State's leading scorer is Derriona Salter with 15.7 points per game. The Cougars are well rounded offensively with five players scoring in double figures.
Latisha Parris is the team's leading rebounder helping her to average a double-double with 12 points and 10.3 boards per game. Parris is fourth in rebounding in the conference.
Deziya McClendon is the high scorer for the Saluqis with 12.8 ppg. She is the only SW Tennessee player averaging double figures in scoring.
McClendon is also the team and conference leading rebounder with 12.4 boards per game. Jaliyah Zackery also averages double figures in rebounding with 11.6 per game and is the conference's second leading rebounder.
Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. Admission is $8 for guests and free with a Cleveland State Community College ID card.
