The season is over for the Cougars.
Cleveland State played Dyersburg State in the second round of the conference tournament losing 76-66.
The Cougars defeated the Eagles in each of their meetings during the regular season, but were unable to come out with a win when it mattered most.
Defensively Cleveland State held the league's third leading scorer Ava Craddock under her season average, but four other Eagles also scored in double figures with Paris Halliburton coming off the bench having a hot shooting night going 7-11 from the field scoring a game high 21 points.
The Cougars had three players put up double figures with Jarnyria Maddox scoring a team high 19. Jordan McCullough had 17 while Derriona Salter contributed 11.
The Eagles got to the free-throw line 37 times making 30 of their shots from the stripe to help secure the victory, while Cleveland State went 11-20 from the line.
Cleveland State finished the season 11-13 overall and 9-9 in conference play.
