Cleveland State put together a 20-6 fourth quarter to secure a conference victory over Volunteer State today.

The Cougars shot 43.9% from the field while the Pioneers (1-10, 0-4) shot 27.6%. Cleveland State (4-2, 2-2) also held a big advantage in the rebounding department with 48 compared to Volunteer State's 29.

"Overall, I'm pleased with the team's performance today," head coach Lisa Phillips said. "Efficiency on the offensive glass gave us second and third scoring opportunities and turnovers we created on the defensive end helped secure the lead throughout the game."

Jordan McCullough scored a game high 26 points to lead the Cougars to victory. Derriona Salter and Jarnyria Maddox each contributed 11 with Mackenzie Brenier adding 10.

"We had four in double digits for scoring which really is a testament to this team playing unselfishly and together," Phillips said.

Maddox and Brenier each also had a double-double securing 11 rebounds.

Cleveland State has yet to lose this season at home with a 4-0 record.

The Cougars take the court next looking for their first road victory on the season. They travel to Calhoun Community College on Tuesday for a non-conference matchup.

In their first meeting at Cleveland State the Cougars took a close one defeating the Warhawks 59-55. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
