Cleveland State controlled the game from the opening tip in their final game of the season on their home floor.

It was 23-5 after the first quarter and by the end the Cougars (9-12, 7-9) put together their most dominant performance this year scoring a season high 79 points and allowing a season low 35 to Motlow State (5-22, 2-15).

Collectively Cleveland State caused the Bucks to turn the ball over 21 times with the Cougars coming away with 14 steals. Cleveland State also dominated the glass coming down with 21 more rebounds than Motlow State.

The shooting was on as well for the home team knocking down 27% more of their shots than average and going 12-13 from the free throw line, a place where they've averaged 65.9% on the year.

A big part of the strong shooting performance came from Jordan McCullough scoring a game high 25 points going 5-9 from behind the three points line, shooting 50% overall while bringing down 10 rebounds. Jarnyria Maddox also produced a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Latisha Parris was two rebounds away from being the third Cougar with a double-double while also scoring 14 points. Derriona Salter added another 11 of her own as the team's fourth player to put up double figures in scoring.

With the win and Roane State (16-12, 7-10) losing tonight to Walters State (17-7, 14-3), Cleveland State has recaptured fifth place overall in the conference standings and controls their own destiny in keeping it.

The Cougars have two road games left before the post season begins and each are against teams they defeated earlier in the season. Cleveland State is on the road this Saturday at Columbia State (6-19, 6-11) with tip-off at 3 p.m. before wrapping up the regular season on Monday at Dyersburg State (16-10, 11-5) in a make-up game scheduled for 5 p.m.
