After a close first quarter separated by two points the Cougar Women would shoot 23% on the game and lose to Wallace on Saturday November 5 moving their record to 1-1 on the young season.  For the second game in a row Tionna Baker led Cleveland State in scoring with 23 points shooting five of seven from the field while going 10-13 from the charity stripe.  In the 70-40 loss the Cougars made three shots from the three point line all by Baker.

 

All total the Cougars managed 60 shots taken while Wallace poured it on taking a total of 88.   Anika Smith had seven rebounds while Baker had five which contributed to the 32 boards pulled down by Cleveland State.  Wallace won the rebound battle grabbing 53 of their own.

 

Latisha Parris joined Baker in double figures scoring 12 and led the Cougars in steals with five.  Laney Bone, Janae Charles and Parris had four rebounds each.

 

Cleveland State starts conference play on Wednesday November 9 at 5:30 p.m. in a home scheduled contest vs the 2-0 Chattanooga State Lady Tigers.  At the conclusion of the three-game home stand the Cougars face off against three more conference teams; Southwest Tennessee away on Saturday November 12, Walters State at home on Wednesday November 16 and lastly at Volunteer State on Saturday November 19. 

 

Cougar home games are played at the L. Quentin Lane Gymnasium on the campus of Cleveland State with an Admission charge of $8 per person for the public with no admission charge for Cleveland State students.
