Women’s Basketball Loses Road Conference Game to Dyersburg State

Women’s Basketball Wins Final Regular Season Game vs Columbia State

Up by four going into the fourth quarter Cleveland State ran out of steam vs conference rival Dyersburg State on Saturday February 18 eventually losing the road game 66-61.  With one game remaining in the regular season and with a conference record of 12-4 the Cougars are in third place in the TCCAA standings.

 

Cleveland State's Tionna Baker the second leading scorer in the league was one of four Cougars in double figures as she dropped in 25 points while pulling down 12 rebounds.  Destiny Remy and Anika Smith went for 12 each while Latisha Parris tossed in 10.  Parris also handed out a team leading five assists. 

 

As a team the Cougars shot 34.3% from the field while Dyersburg came in at 44.0%.  Dyersburg went to the charity stripe 28 times and made 15 while Cleveland State was 10 of 12.

 

The last regular season game for the Cougars is set for Saturday February 25 vs Columbia State with game time scheduled for 2:00 p.m.  The day will honor the Cleveland State sophomore players as it is "Sophomore Day."
