Women’s Basketball Takes Conference Road Win vs Columbia State

The Cougar women used double scoring from four players beating conference rival Columbia State 76-52 on Saturday January 21 at Columbia TN.  The win leaves Cleveland State two games behind first place Walters State.

 

Laney Bone led the way scoring 23 points while pulling down 18 boards with 11 off the offensive glass.  Joining Bone in double figures were teammates Latisha Parris with 14, Tionna Baker at 13 and Destiny Remy dropping in 10.  As a team the Cougars shot 41.4% from the field while Columbia answered with 36.4%.

 

Cleveland State outrebounded the Lady Chargers 52-17 and had 14 steals to Columbia's four.  Cougars Parris and Baker had five thefts each.

 

Wednesday January 25 the Cougars travel the short distance to play Chattanooga State at 5:30 p.m.  Currently Chattanooga has a conference record of 8-1 placing them one game ahead of Cleveland.
