Laney Bone with 23 points and 15 rebounds teamed with Tionna Baker who had 17 points and 9 steals to lead Cleveland State to a 63-55 home conference win vs Dyersburg State on Saturday January 14.  The win moved the Cougars to a record of 5-2 in the conference and 8-4 overall.

 

Down by five with a under four minutes to play the Cougars clawed back with tenacious defense and timely shooting outscoring Dyersburg 15-2 for the eventual win.  Bone, Baker and Latisha Parris combined for 13 of the 21 fourth quarter points for Cleveland State.  On the game Derriona Salter scored in double figures with 11 while Parris and Baker each had six assists.  Destiny Remy had seven boards.

 

Looking to extend their five game conference win streak Cleveland State hosts conference foe Motlow State on Wednesday January 18 at 5:30 p.m. in the L. Quentin Lane Gymnasium.  Currently Motlow is winless on the season. 

 

Admission charge for the public is $8 per person.  There is no charge for the Cleveland State students.
