With number #3 seed Cleveland State set to take on #2 seed Chattanooga State at the TCCAA/NJCAA Region Tournament on Monday March 6 Cougar players Laney Bone was announced as the Conference and Freshman Player of the Year while teammate Tionna Baker earned Conference Offensive Player of the Year honors.  Both players were named to the All-TCCAA First Team with Destiny Remy taking home Second Team All-TCCAA honors.

 

Bone averaged 15 points and 12 rebounds per game with 53 Blocks while on the season recording 17 double-doubles.  Baker average 18 points per game along with three assists.

 

With the Cleveland State awards setting the background for Monday's Cougars vs Tigers semi-final tournament contest the game is scheduled to be played at 2:00 p.m. EST at host Roane State Community College.  During the regular season the teams split with both games being closely contested contests.  The winner is set to play either number one seed Walters State or number four seed Roane State with that game scheduled to be played two hours prior to the Cougars game.

 

Both Cleveland and Chattanooga had 14-4 regular season records.
