Women’s Basketball Wins Final Regular Season Game vs Columbia State

The Cougar women faced off against conference rival Jackson State on Saturday December 3 winning the runaway game 99-56 as all five of the Cleveland State starters scored in double figures led by Laney Bone who had 22 while pulling down 17 rebounds.  The Cougars now have an overall record of 5-3 and a conference mark of 3-2.

 

Destiny Remy and Tionna Baker had 21 and 20 points with Anika Smith and Latisha Parris scoring 18 and 14 points respectively.  Cleveland State controlled the boards totaling 62 with Remy and Smith each grabbing 11.

 

Parris had 6 assists and Baker had 5 contributing to the Cougar game total of 21.  Baker led the way in free throws with a perfect 6-for-6 as Cleveland State was 16-18 from the charity stripe.

 

Monday December 12 the Cougars with a three-game winning streak head to Snead State for a non-conference road game scheduled for 6:30 p.m. EST.  Cleveland State beat Snead in their first game of the season 72-44.
