Women’s Basketball Wins Conference Contest vs Roane State

Women’s Basketball Season Ends with Tournament Loss to Chattanooga

Tied at eight points at the end of first quarter play Cleveland State outscored Roane by two the rest of the way to win a low scoring conference contest 47-45 on Wednesday February 15 in the L. Quentin Lane Gymnasium.  The win moved the Cougars to a TCCAA record of 12-3 and sole possession of second place in conference while dropping Roane to 10-5.

 

Cleveland State who did not start scoring until six minutes into the game were led by three players in double figures; Tionna Baker tossed in 13, Destiny Remy went for 12 while Laney Bone scored 10.  Bone and Baker had 11 and eight rebounds respectively as both teams pulled down 38 rebounds.  Remy had seven boards while Anika Smith grabbed six.

 

With three conference games remaining in the regular season the Cougars travel to Dyersburg TN on Saturday February 18 to take on Dyersburg State who has a conference record of 7-7.  Game time is set for 3:00 p.m. EST
