The Cleveland State women won their seventh conference game in a row beating Chattanooga State 74-69 on Wednesday January 25.  Moving into a second place tie with Chattanooga the Cougars with a TCCAA record of 8-2 are now two games out of first place with eight conference games remaining in the regular season.

 

Leading conference scorer Tionna Baker tossed in 25 points while grabbing 10 rebounds as the Cougar team stats were markedly better then Chattanooga in Field Goal%, 3Point%, Free Throw%, Blocks and Steals.

 

In the closely contested matchup the Cougars used the spirited play from Latisha Parris who had 14 points and seven rebounds and Destiny Remy with 10 points and five rebounds.  Laney Bone the conference leading rebounder continued her dominate play pulling down 13 boards, going for 12 points while blocking seven shots.

 

The Cougars are back at home in the L. Quentin Lane Gymnasium on Saturday January 28 to play conference rival Southwest Tennessee at 2:00 p.m.  Southwest is in fifth place with a conference record of 4-6.
