The Cougar women lost their first scheduled home conference game of the 2022-2023 season 73-61 to Chattanooga State on Wednesday November 9.  Three of the four quarters were played with no more than a two to three point separation.  The Cougars essentially lost the game in the third quarter as they were outscored by the Lady Tigers by nine points.

 

Laney Bone led the way for Cleveland State scoring 23 and pulling down 16 boards while Tionna Baker had 16 points and seven rebounds.  Destiny Remy grabbed seven boards to go along with 11 points with Latisha Parris tossing in nine points with 10 rebounds.  Zoe Staniszewski had six rebounds and two of the Cougar six game assists.

 

On the game the Cougars were outshot by Chattanooga State 100-79 only taking five three-pointers while the Lady Tigers attempted 27.

 

Overall Cleveland State has a record of 1-2 and a conference mark of 0-1 as they leave for a road conference game in Memphis Tennessee vs Southwest Tennessee on Saturday November 12 at 3:00 p.m. EST.  Currently Southwest has a season record of 2-0.
