Women’s Basketball Takes Conference Road Win vs Jackson State

Women’s Basketball Wins Final Regular Season Game vs Columbia State

The Cleveland State Women continued their run to the end of the regular season with a road conference win vs Jackson State 67-64 on Saturday February 11.  With an 11-3 conference record the Cougars are a half a game out of second place in the TCCAA standings with four remaining games on the season.

 

Down by four at the end of the first quarter, the Cougars turned it around in the second quarter outscoring Jackson 19-11 taking a four point cushion into half time leading to the eventual three-point win.   

 

On the game Cleveland State's Destiny Remy led the way with 23 points and pulled down 10 rebounds while Laney Bone tossed in 18 while grabbing 15 boards.  Tionna Baker handed out eight assists and scored nine points of her own.  The Cougars out shot Jackson 41.8% to 37.1% and won team rebounding 43-31. 

 

On Wednesday February 15 at 5:30 p.m. Cleveland State hosts a conference game vs Roane State in the L. Quentin Lane Gymnasium.  Currently Roane has a conference record of 10-4 putting them a half a game behind the Cougars.

 

For the general public there is an $8 admission with no charge to the Cleveland State students.
