Down by 10 at the end of the second quarter Cleveland State came storming back in the second half outscoring Georgia Highlands by 12 to win 65-63 on Tuesday November 29.  Highlands tied the game at 63 on a 3-point shot with 13 seconds left only to see previous "Player of the Week" Tionna Baker sink two free throws with one second remaining for the win.  On the game Baker led the Cougars in scoring with 26 including 13 of 16 from the free throw line.

Two other Cougars scored in double figures with Destiny Remy dropping in 17 and Laney Bone chipping in with 14.  Cleveland State out rebounded Highlands 47-38 led by Anika Smith who had 11 with Latisha Parris pulling down 10.  Bone, Remy and Baker grabbed eight, seven and five boards respectively.

In reflecting on the win Cougar Head Coach Evelyn Thompson said: "After a 10 day game layoff over the Thanksgiving Holiday we came back sluggish in our execution in the first half. But there is no quit in this team and we came out in the second half with the high energy and mental toughness needed to win."  

Cleveland State with an overall record of 4-3 and conference mark of 2-2 hit the road on Thursday December 1 and play at Bryan College at 5:30 p.m.
