In the final game of the three game series vs Walters State on Saturday April 16, Cougar baseball lost 9-1 to close out their homestand.
Cleveland State stayed close down 4-1 going in to the seventh inning when the Senators scored five runs to end the game. Scoring their lone run in the fourth inning on an RBI single off the bat of AJ Swader driving home Jaylen Jones who had doubled, the Cougars managed one other hit, a single by Andre Tarver.
What's Next
With an overall record of 22-20 and a conference mark of 7-13 the Cougars travel to Volunteer State for a three game conference series with a single game set for Friday April 22 at 3 p.m. EST and a doubleheader on Saturday April 23 at 1 and 4 p.m. EST. In a virtual dead heat with the Pioneers and Motlow State, Cleveland State looks to solidify their position for the year ending TCCAA Region VII tournament slated to begin on Sunday May 8 at Chattanooga State.
The regular season ends for the Cougars with a home conference match up on the 29th and 30th of April vs Southwest Tennessee CC.
