With a two match schedule vs Andrew College on Saturday September 2, Cougar Volleyball burst into the win column winning the second match of the day, 3-0. On the road in Cuthbert Georgia, Cleveland State lost a close first match 25-19, 25-19 and 26-24 before turning it around and taking the second with set scores of 25-21, 25-21 and 25-18.
The bounce back three set win saw Kaydence Houston and Alyssa Cate leading the way in Kills with 12 and eight respectively. Aare'anne Tillis had five while Ella Johnson came in with four. Johnson was good for 17 Assists while Ryleigh McGinnis had 12.
With aggressive hustle Samantha Daniels had 16 Digs while Taylor Hancock and Johnson had 14 and 11. Tillis and McGinnis finished their complete effort with seven and five.
Next up for Cleveland State is their opening conference match vs Pellissippi State on Tuesday September 5. The road match for the 1-3 Cougars starts at 6:30 p.m. EST. This will be the first scheduled match for Pellissippi on the 2023 season.
