Thursday, September 7, Cougar Volleyball remains on the road and plays Covenant College at Covenant with a start time of 6:30 p.m. EST. With a current overall record of 1-4 Cleveland State looks to jump back in the win column after losing a conference match to Pellissippi State 3-2.
During 2022 season the Cougars played Covenant twice winning both matches 3-2 on the road and 3-0 at home in the L. Quentin Lane Gymnasium.
Cleveland State stars of the match vs Pellissippi were Samantha Daniels and Taylor Hancock with 29 and 27 Digs, 17 Kills from Kaydence Houston and Ella Johnson with 38 Assists. With a close knit squad, Cougar Head Coach Alizabeth Atnip looks to take the positivity and hustle to Covenant College.
To date the Cougars and Pellissippi are the only two schools who have played a conference match as Roane, Walters and Chattanooga are set to begin play in conference the week of September 11.
Cleveland State's home opener is right around the corner. Tuesday September 12 conference rival and overall first place Roane State faces off vs the Cougars in what promises to be a highly competitive match.
