Cleveland State volleyball took one set from Chattanooga State, but couldn't pull out the match.

The Cougars lost the first two sets, but won set three before the Tigers put the match away in set four.

"We showed hustle and effort tonight, especially in some stellar rallies that caught Chatt State off guard," head coach Alizabeth Atnip said.

Cleveland State (3-13, 1-6) took Chattanooga State (10-5, 4-1) to the final point in set one with the Tigers pulling it out 25-23. Chattanooga State dominated set two 25-12, but the Cougars showed heart pulling out set three 26-24. Ultimately the Tigers outlasted Cleveland State winning set four 25-17 taking the match.

Kaydence Houston had a strong night offensively leading the team with six kills. Ella Johnson set up nicely with a team leading 12 assists. Libero Taylor Hancock led the team in digs as she has in every match this season for the Cougars with 14 tonight. Kynlie Ward also contributed with nine digs while Jazlyn Butler had an impressive four service aces.

"We had better serve presence from the team tonight," Atnip said.

Cleveland State will have a couple days off before traveling this Friday to play in the Snead State Classic Tournament.
