Cleveland State starter Bailee Phillips pitched a three-hit shutout in the first game for her fourth win of the season.  Phillips' five strikeout game led to her second shutout in a row.  In the second inning Emily Higgins hit a solo home run to left field followed by a two-run shot off the bat of Makala Strickland in the fourth.  Chipping in with four other hits included Hope Ingle, Carlynn Atamaniuk, Shelby Sullivan and Sarah Morris.

 

In game two with the score tied at one the Cougars scored four runs in the fifth with three of the four driven in by bases loaded walks.  In the seventh inning Cleveland State could not hold the lead as Roane State scored five runs after two outs were recorded.

 

In the 10-hit attack the Cougars were led by Ingle, Atamaniuk, Sullivan, and Madison Miner each with two hits followed by Higgins and Morris each with one.  Higgins and Morris each drove in two of Cleveland State's five runs.

 

On Sunday March 20 the Cougars finished their four game conference series with a doubleheader at Roane State with game times set for 12 and 2 p.m.
