Four Cougar Softball Players Earn All-Conference Honors

The Tennessee Community College Athletic Association recognized four Cougar softball player who earned 2022 Second Team All-Conference honors as nominated and voted by the 10 head softball coaches of the league; sophomores Makala Strickland and Sarah Morris along with freshmen Hope Ingle and Shelby Sullivan.

 

Makala Strickland who batted third and played centerfield had a final batting average of .430, an on base percentage of .517 and slugging percentage of .848.  She led the way with 19 home runs, 65 RBI's and 17 stolen bases.  In the conference Strickland tied for second in home runs and was third in slugging percentage.

 

Sarah Morris batted sixth in the lineup and played second base and batted .346 with an on base percentage of .407.  She hit six home runs, drove home 32 runs and stole 17 bases along with a slugging percentage of .507.

 

Hope Ingle caught every inning of the Cougars 51 games and led the team with 80 hits, batted .437 with an on base percentage of .469.  From the lead off position she hit 14 home runs, a team leading 16 doubles, drove in 45 runs and had a slugging percentage of .754.  In the conference Ingle tied for second in doubles, was fifth in home runs and eighth in slugging percentage.

 

Shelby Sullivan batted cleanup and played first base and had a team leading batting average of .450, an on base percentage of .472 and slugging percentage of .651.  She had 37 RBI's along with five home runs.  Sullivan's batting average placed her seventh in the conference.
