Men’s Basketball Takes Loss vs Wallace State CC-Hanceville

Women’s Basketball Wins on the Road vs Chattanooga State

Down by 14 at the half the Cougar men came storming back in the second half out scoring Wallace State 36-31 in the 58-49 non-conference home loss on Saturday January 7.  As Cleveland State readies for a January 11 conference road contest vs Roane State they stand with a conference record of 3-2 and overall mark of 4-7.

 

Michael Johnson was a rebounding machine for the Cougars, pulling down 13 of the team total of 32 while K'Juan Banks led the scoring with 11.  Banks grabbed six boards while Jarrod Taylor tallied 9 points followed by Landon Jacobs and Tony Sapp with seven each.  Cleveland State was strong from the Free Throw line making 14 of 17 attempts.

 

The Cougars next home game is set for Saturday January 14 at 4:00 p.m. vs conference rival Dyersburg State.  Currently, Dyersburg stands in first place in the Tennessee Community College Athletic Association with a 5-0 record.
