Cougar Head Coach Rafael Howard has dipped into the pool of Georgia High school seniors and signed Julius "Jay" King to a Letter of Intent for the 2023-2024 school year. King from Macon Georgia graduates from First Presbyterian Day School.
The 6'3 point guard is a highly decorated high school player who averaged 32.7 points per game his senior year while grabbing 5.8 rebounds per game and handed out 3.4 assists each game.
Honors earned by King include GHSA Region Player of the Year; Hoopseen first Team All-State/
Senior of the Year and GACA 1A Private South Player of the Year.
Coach Howard concluded his announcement by saying: "I am extremely happy to sign a player of Jay King's quality. We look forward to his development and contributions to the Cougar Basketball Family and his representation of Cleveland State.
