Men’s Basketball Loses Close Contest to Columbia State

Down by nine at the half Cleveland State came storming back after intermission eventually losing to conference rival Columbia State 70-67 on Saturday February 25 in what was the final game of the regular season.  The Cougars end with a TCCAA record of 5-13 and now wait for the TCCAA/NJCAA Region VII Tournament schedule set to be played at Roane State.  The tournament is set to be played March 3-March 7.

 

Three Cleveland State players went for double figures led by Slade "Tre" Chatman with 14, Joshua Horn at 13 and K'Juan Banks at 11 who also led the team in rebounding grabbing seven.  Damon Fann tossed in nine points going three of six from the three point line, Tony Sapp dropped in eight and finally Jarrod Taylor was good for six.

 

The Cougar shot 40.3% from the field and were 12-for-15 from the charity stripe.  As a team they pulled down 30 rebounds with 10 assists.
