Men’s Basketball Bested by Motlow State in Home Conference Game

Cleveland State lost a home conference matchup to Motlow State 74-57 on Wednesday January 18 as Motlow pulled away from the Cougars by 12 points in the second half leading to the eventual win.  Cleveland's overall record stands at 4-10 with a conference mark of 3-5.

 

In a closely contested first half the Cougars scored 33 points led by K'Juan Banks who was 5-for-5 from the field good for 10 points while grabbing five rebounds.  The second half was a different story as Cleveland State mustered only 24 points as they shot just 31.8% from the field making seven field goals.  Motlow dropped in 14 buckets while shooting 50.0%.

 

The Cougars had three players in double figures; Banks at 12 with Caleb Chapman and Michael Johnson each going for 10.  Banks had nine boards and Chapman pulled down seven.

 

Cleveland State looks to move back into the win column on Saturday January 21 as they travel to Columbia State for another conference contest with a start time of 5:00 p.m. EST.  Currently Columbia sits alone in third place in the conference standings.
